About Parent’s Touch Baby Massage

Meet Kate

I am a trained IAIM infant massage instructor and mum to 3 girls. My entire work background has revolved around babies/children and their families. I have an extensive background in childcare, and most recently at the Royal Free Hospital as a Play Specialist on the children's ward. I have always been passionate about supporting children and their families, so becoming an infant massage instructor and being in a position to support parents in those early months and provide a calm, non judgemental and comfortable space for parents to share experiences whilst teaching them the lifelong skill of baby massage is something that I love doing.

Why choose IAIM?

"Research shows conclusively that healthy early attachment is essential in human development, and the IAIM training is by far the best institutional approach on the planet for nurturing and empowering early parent-child attachment relationships"

-Richard House, Ph.D.

Senior Lecturer in Therapeutic Education at Roehampton University, London and noted childhood Campaigner

IAIM  courses are approved by the RCM (Royal College of Midwives)

The Benefits of Infant Massage

When considering Baby Massage, you may think that it would be perfect for providing your baby with some relaxation time. Whilst this is a benefit of baby massage, it is just one of the many beneficial elements. Baby massage can also encourage brain development, help with colic and constipation, aid circulation, strengthen their immune system and promote sleep. In addition to the benefits for your baby, it can also help with post-natal depression, as when you massage, your brain releases oxytocin (a feel good hormone). You will also learn a lifelong skill that you can continue using with your growing child, have some dedicated bonding time and meet other new parents too. All in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Courses are suitable from birth to mobile (there are exceptions to this, please contact me for more information if required)
